Tried my hand at taking some design sketching to a finished 3d asset. Did the hi poly > low poly >uv map etc. Aimed for under 60k tris as an arbitrary number since this isn't actually going into anything. I wanted to try the full 3D workflow to better understand how my designs can translate into 3D, and because I'm interested in learning more about how to utilize 3D in game engines. I really like the idea of being able to interact with a design in a 3D space (ie games), as the added sense of immersion appeals greatly to me. Hope to push the design side much further on my next now that I've started to scratch the surface of the technical hurdles with making 3D assets.

some refs + initial sketching. This project started as a character doodle, but lead me to start thinking about taking a prop further. I wanted a desert theme so I went with trying to integrate some organic/scorpionlike shapes into the gun variants.
